"Please note, I am NOT a local guide. I am a traveler who was in Orhiuela just to see the town. After a long day walking, finding a classic Bar Restaurante was a welcome sight. The menu del dia is a blessing to the food world. I know if you live in Spain, it is a dependable way to affordably eat. For the traveler, when you get away from the tourist districts, it is a way to get piece of the country without all the homogenization of international cuisine. Mandolo did not disappoint, We had a nice vegetable soup (I think with squash or pumpkin base) Ensalada Murciana (which was new to me and I loved), a braised beef, and roast chicken dish. With water, and wine, it was wonderful. A great value and a great experience."

"Lovely spot for lunch. We had tuna steak with chips and beef steak with chips and a beer. £40euros for 2. Reasonably priced. Food tasted great. Service was very good considering they were full. Its in a central part of Orihuela by the University and Wall museum. Worth a visit."

"This restaurant is a gem. (We sat outside in a tent pavilion) Locally produced ingredients cooked with love, plated with care and served by friendly staff. What is not to like? We will come back for sure."

"Arrived here for lunch, just before the kitchen was open. The staff were very kind to provide very nice sandwiches and snacks for the children of the party - to keep them happy. The adults enjoyed some drinks whilst waiting for lunch. The food was simply amazing - I can see how they have won various awards for their tapas! Prices were reasonable too and I cannot stress how kind the staff were. Will return if ever back in the area."

"Delicious food and great atmosphere! Authentic Spanish home-style cooking, made with heart. The portions are huge — the chicken Caesar salad can easily feed two, and the grilled squid was fresh and perfectly cooked. The Verdejo wine by the glass was excellent. The place has a cozy, traditional interior — quiet and welcoming, you feel like you’re visiting old friends. Fair prices, fast service, and a warm, friendly vibe. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy genuine, hearty food!"

"Dropped in for a late lunch. Ordered prawn croquettes, squid analusian, prawn and zucchini croquettes and chicken skewers. Really tasty. We were the only ones there and it was peaceful to sit outside. QR code show menu in English so you understand it. Waiter was nice even with language barrier"

"We loved it here. Upon arrival, it doesn’t look 4/5 star so this could be improved. It does look quite dodgy, but this shouldn’t be off putting because the food and staff are great. They have a set menu which you can choose from or a tapas menu and there is a lot of choose from. I am gluten free but not celiac and I didn’t feel very confident so just got a salad, so most likely not for anyone with allergies but feel free to ask! However the food itself was lovely. The salads were fresh, the service was quick and it is right on the river. The inside looked lovely too but tables were reserved… the tapas was gorgeous, even squid and chicken etc… was cooked perfectly and was only €3-4 each. So you could order quite a mixture between a few. We ordered like 9 dishes between 3 (including 2 bigger salads) and another ordered burger and chips which was perfect. The dishes are fairly priced and quite cheap but delicious!"
